Dila district is last announced district in Awdal region of somaliland (former somalia). The town of Dilla is the capital of this district with a population of 20,000. This district is very rich in agriculture being the second district of whole the country in the field of agriculture. The inhabitants of this district are the Reer Nuur subclan of the gadabuursi (samaroon) tribe. Other towns and villages which come under this name include jaaraahorato, tulli, walaalgoo, dhuxunka, cadmadooni, idhanka and many others.

Though of the large population of the district (up to 40,000) which are all from the same sub-clan, the political influence in the region of this district is gradually decreasing because of the current government, which they show respect and followness to the leader of the country Dahir Riyale Kahin because of him being the same tribe of that of the reer-nuur they frozen their voice of demands in new seats in the government. Although there is some notable seats in the current government including the minister of water and mineral resources and many other valuable seats and positions in the governments this is not a fare percent to the clan.
