[edit] East Visayan Academy (Philippines)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of East Visayan Academy (Philippines), and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.sdaalumni.com/z-eva-history.aspx. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 07:38, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] St. Scholastica's Academy (Talisay City, Cebu - Philippines)

A tag has been placed on St. Scholastica's Academy (Talisay City, Cebu - Philippines), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Darkwind (talk) 07:43, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright status of East Visayan Academy (Philippines)

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to East Visayan Academy (Philippines). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.sdaalumni.com/z-eva-history.aspx in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:East Visayan Academy (Philippines) with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:East Visayan Academy (Philippines) with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you want to edit constructively, take a look at the welcome page. Thank you. --Darkwind (talk) 07:47, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding your comment on East Visayan Academy (Philippines)

The reason your comment was deleted is because the article itself was also deleted. As I'd explained on that talk page before the article was deleted, you can't just assume that something is public domain or free to copy. There either has to be a notice on the website that its content is licensed under the GFDL or a similar license, or a notice that it is public domain, or you have to have the permission of the author in writing.

The page you copied the content from had an actual copyright notice, and the terms of service link on that site, where one would reasonably expect to see a text license, didn't work (it just redirects to the main page). That means that as far as a reasonable user can tell, the content is copyrighted and not permissible for you to use here at Wikipedia without the special permission of the author.

I hope that helps explain things a bit. --Darkwind (talk) 21:30, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

I see. Yes, you are correct that clicking on the terms of service will just redirect to the main page with that I thought my assumption was legally correct but obviously not. Again, my intentions was not to infringe copyrights and my apologies for that. I have a question, how do I withdraw my intent of creating this article? What I mean is that, I kind of don't like the idea of browsing to this article and read a re-create notice and the tag "blatant copyright infringement" which is was not my intention? --Digloria 16:57, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Barangay Lagtang (Talisay City, Cebu)

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Barangay Lagtang (Talisay City, Cebu), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
