User:Digg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I will save you from having to read a boring blog entry, here's the skinny:
- I saw FirefoxMyths.com
- I thought about putting in on digg, there was no other story on it
- Lo and behold the url was blocked
- I write a short entry, mention how it was blocked on digg
- I put the story on digg
... and then
- My account is deleted
- My comments are removed (Edit: wait, no, only some comments are deleted)
- Stories I submitted are removed
- My IP is blocked!!!!!!
(note: This link was posted on digg itself, see [1] after reaching about 41 diggs the site was promoted to front page and then immediately buried)

Firefoxmyths.com is blocked, so is the *entire* comcast subdomain for user pages.
[edit] Response by Thomas:
FirefoxMyths.com (& the related Comcast site) were banned from Digg due to the spamming of Digg by the author of FirefoxMyths.com (A dozen or so instances of posting stories which linked to the site & additionally commenting in other technology articles linking to said site). Most users inadvertently affected by such moderator actions have been reinstated [2]. The content of said site has also been subject to critical scrutiny as a result of verifiable misrepresentation of sources [3] & people [4].—Preceding unsigned comment added by TSThomas (talk • contribs)

- Hey Digg, sorry you got banned from digg.com, that's messed up. As a regular reader of digg, I can sort of explain. The creator of that site was *really* obnoxious and spammed the hell out of digg about his own site. Anytime there was a story about firefox, opera, or IE (which was a lot for a while) he would add a troll comment and then link to his site. This would inevitably lead to a a big and useless argument about it. I believe he got his site on the frontpage at some point, but he kept going at publicizing it in an obnoxious manner. I guess this annoyed enough people that it became a sensitive topic, and my guess is you pushed it at the wrong time. No reason why you should be banned though.

- Oh, and to be a bit off topic, that site really wasn't really that good. I joined in some of the arguments with the creator of the site, and it was clear he was biased and willing to make up information or take information out of context to further his inexplicable goals.
