Talk:DigiDestined
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Judging by the youtube archives and the first depiction of the term in the episode title, shouldn't this be moved to Digidestined? The redirect seems baffling. 209.6.230.71 21:52, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Original Digidestined
Does it ever actually say that they fought Apocalymon? I only remember Gennai saying they defeated a great evil. Even if it does say they sealed Apocalymon, since Apocalymon is basically the sum of all dead Dark Area digimon, couldn't it be possible that they just fought a demon lord or something.
For example, Lucemon??
- I don't know where this comes from either. In the show, all that's said is the defeated another Digimon that came across the Firewall. There's no reason at all that I know of to believe that the original five also fought Apocalymon. Considering the age of the Digital World, I don't even know that the ultimate evil then wasn't a mere Perfect or something. Shining Celebi 05:12, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Does anyone know how old you have to be to become a digidestined?and is there an age limit?--Cojin 19:47, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think the writers of any of the animes ever gave specifics on that. -- Ned Scott 04:50, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Then why does it say 12 as an age limit in the article? Those in savers were older than 12, and although the article goes on to say that they were never refered to as Digidestined (Or Chosen Children), neigther were those in Tamers, execpt in the english dub of a movie that was translated after the show ended. If that's the case it seems the line about the age thing and the savers entry may need to be changed/edited. Just a suggestion-Sgore 02:53, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Aye, I've removed the section that said that. This whole article needs a lot of work. -- Ned Scott 02:59, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] International DigiDestined
Shouldn't the International DigiDestined seen in Adventure 02 have mention on this article? I'll add it myself, if nobody minds. Delete it if you wish. You Can't See Me! 04:08, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- It's covered in List of human characters in the Digimon series. -- Ned Scott 04:16, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I just thought it would be appropriate here as well. In any case, I've just finished adding it. Revert if you really feel that strongly about it. You Can't See Me! 04:39, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- Shouldnt they be included in both articles, considering that they are techinally DigiDestined and Human characters in Digimon?--Mmmundo 17:46, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] only digidestend should be on
should we inclued tamers and other seris caracters because only 01 & 02 kids r rally digidestend others r digi-tamers or whatever their called in seris not yet in england.
- English usually helps and yes they should. They own Digimon, therefore they control the Digital World's Destiny, thus DigiDestined. Trainra 10:33, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Digimon Tamers
I believe this article should be renamed to Tamers (Digimon), as this is the term used in the more recent seasons, and throughout the games and manga. Digidestined appear to be a specific kind of Tamer.
Then again, it might be the other way around, considering Frontier.
But Tamer is definitely first, a la V-Tamer 01, and is used more often. It would also help get rid of the "other kids with digivices", when those are tamers/digidestined as well, I think.
Thoughts?Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 21:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] images and repeating content
Repeating the lists here means we're using those images at least once more than we should be (technically, they shouldn't be used since the individual articles have images). I'm thinking this article probably should be merged into something else, or used as a disambig page of sorts, and just point to the sections in the individual season articles. -- Ned Scott 01:49, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sounds reasonable to me. It might work to replace the lists with "main" links and keep some kind of discussion of the concept. Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 02:37, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
