Digital television in Namibia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

While Namibia's public broadcasters still rely on analog transmission and have not announced a transition date to digital television, the pay-TV operator Multichoice already operates a digital television service using the DVB-T standard. Reaching approximately 3000 subscribers, the transition occurred on 18 February 2005 without the use of a dual-illumination period due to the lack of spare frequencies.[citation needed]
