A digital hang tag is a CD, DVD, CD-ROM, memory card, USB flash drive or other digital communication devices attached to merchandise and distributed at retail locations. These distributions create lifestyle channels where the recipients are categorized by purchase behavior, lifestyle and need. They are used by marketers as a means of differentiating their products at the point of sale and are meant to provide a sales increase. The device and shape are determined by the marketers attaching a digital hang tag to their product. Digital hang tags are patented by eTAGZ, Inc. of Seattle, Washington under U.S. Patent number 6,298,332 B1.[1]
