From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Digital Pack Rat or Digital Packrat is a term for a computer user who downloads any file they encounter and saves it to any storage device, in particular a hard drive or DVD burner and subsequently never deletes them.

The term appeared as far back as 2001, in an article by Joe Farace in Computer User [1], and has become more widespread since [2][3].
