Digital Home is a well-known and controversial consumer information provider that is primarily focused on consumer electronics. In Canada, the organization is an influential force for providing information for topics such as satellite and cable television, home theater equipment, and satellite radio. They are well-known in the online media for being accused of unethical and corrupt practices, modifying apparently unbiased information, and attempting to perform secretive acts of rude conduct towards users of the organization for the intent of financial gain.
[edit] Controversy
It has been reported by numerous users that Digital Home has been involved in selectively deleting user-created content that involves complaints about the service of various television providers. An unusually high frequency of user complaints also suggest that the Digital Home administration is disrespectful and rude to users who dislike certain television providers. User accounts have also been reportedly deleted without any known reason or violation of policy.[1] It has also been reported that Digital Home is in fact owned by a cable operator or special interest group, but this report was never confirmed.
