Soundtracks is an english company manufacturing mixing consoles since 1980. They started to develop digital mixing consoles in 1992. When Bob Doyle left Midas, he joined the Soundtracks company and they started with designing a new live digital mixing console. These consoles are currently being used around the world by audio engineers largely in the live sound realm. Applications for these boards include but are not limited to, Front Of House (FOH) and monitor console positions. Common consoles now include the venerable D1 Live, D5 Live and the theater series D5T and D5T12, small frame professional touring consoles.
The newest addition to the range is the SD7. Launched at the Frankfurt Music Messe in 2008, the SD7 takes over from the D5 Live and D5T as the top of the range DiGiCo console. Notable features include no less than a full redundant engine in the desk, dynamic EQ on every channel and everything the audio engineer is dreaming about.
They are using the Skarc DSP from Analogue Devices, a much faster and efficient processor than any then on the market. DiGiCo is always at the edge of the technology and is pioneer in many new stuff (the use of the 96kHz sample rate, the first company to run multiple sample rate simultaneously etc).
