[edit] History
Deeply influenced by Primal Scream, The Prodigy, The Libertines, Pendulum, and New Order, DIGIHAI started their music journey in summer 2004 while they played their music with only simple synthesizers. DIGIHAI didn't use laptops to compose their songs until Ping Jam joined DIGIHAI in 2006. At first, DIGIHAI was a four men group which consisted of Chen-Wei Shen, Pass Chen, Ding Liu, and Mu-Chen Chen. In the end of 2004, Chia-Han Lin, the former agent of DIGIHAI, played simple drums with them and therefore DIGIHAI was formed by five different music ideas.
In 2005, DIGIHAI had a lot of live sets in Taipei and also was invited by "Spring Scream Music Festival" and "Ho-HAI-YAN Festival". After appearing on a TV show "Taiwan R.O.C", DIGIHAI was noticed and whispered by people in Taiwan and decided to focus on composing different dance musics rather than only break beat musics. In the end of 2005, Chia-Han Lin decided to study aboard and left the band.
In 2006, Ping Jam joined DIGIHAI and gave the band plenty of fresh ideas to compose as well as to perform live sets. They started to prepare their debut album "DIGIHAI" in the same time. However, before the album fully accomplished, Chen-Wei Shen and Pass Chen left the band for United States and England. Hence, the band decided to spend one year to compose songs and to learn digital music production.
"DIGIHAI", the debut album of DIGIHAI, was launched to the market in the beginning of 2007. In summer, Pass Chen came back from Europe and rejoined DIGIHAI, thus encouraging the band to play music in live houses again in Taiwan.
