[edit] Category:Digital Revolution

Same thing as for the Digital category this category is too wide !! should we put here all what happened in Electronics since 1975 ? --Khalid hassani 14:24, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • Delete. Too ambiguous. Rhobite 01:38, Feb 27, 2005 (UTC)
  • Reluctant Keep. Certainly there are many things in electronics that aren't revolutionary. If this category was restricted to those that were, it would be more useful. I'm hoping it will improve with care. --A D Monroe III 16:35, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Delete. Any possible object for this category will not be appropriate for long. Nothing should really last here for more than 6 months these days. iPod is about the only exception of a long standing widespread digirev lately.--ZayZayEM 13:34, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)
That seems backwards to me. It shouldn't be just the latest stuff. That would be like having a category like "Modern", which would surely be useless, because it doesn't end. But, at some point in the future, the Digital Revolution will be history, if it isn't already. Because it's short-lived is why we should keep it. Compare with Category:Industrial Revolution. --A D Monroe III 00:38, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)
  • Keep. Thanks, A.D.Monroe, I was hoping someone would articulate the Industrial Revolution analogy; it was on my mind but not in articulatable form. The problem with the category is not its existence but its use; it is difficult for people to maintain a historical point of view about an age in which they live and so it is for the Digital Revolution, which is still underway. With some vigilance and a willingness on the part of Wikipedians to de-categorize some things that might be put in the category, I think this is an appropriate addition. • Keep. Agree with the Industrial Revolution analogy. 80.42.36.23

  • Keep, though some of the articles that are currently in here should probably be moved to more specific categories. This should be for articles relating to the large-scale evolution of civilization, IMO, not file formats and the owners of obscure online encyclopedias. Bryan 08:47, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)
  • Delete. Merge with other categories. Neutralitytalk 17:46, Mar 6, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] I would have voted to delete

Pity I missed the Cfd. I would have voted to delete. Gronky 10:49, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
