[edit] Less common?

The introductory graph says, "This practice has become less common in more modern games, which often include many tasks of varying difficulty within a single game." Is this true? In my experience most games till ask the user up front what difficulty level they would like to play at. I would agree that some games no longer use explicit difficulty levels, but I'd wager that the majority still do [especially in FPSers and RTSes]. BrokenSegue 05:54, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Japanese Video Game Difficulties

Sometimes video game difficulties in Japanese video games such as Super Mario Brothers 2 and the Tetris Grandmaster series may have extreme difficulty levels to the concern that it would frustrate common American gamers. This possibly causes them not to distribute such game to the US afterwards.

This is not stated in this article, but is this a fact?

What makes you think they couldn't remove the extreme difficulty levels?

I don't think that there would be any problem with that. Why ask? --Darx21 (talk) 04:58, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
