[edit] It looks like pointillism
Does this mean I can make my own pointillist art by taking a photo, cranking up the JPEG level, and taking the difference? --Damian Yerrick (☎) 02:19, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Description
- I'd say I was a reasonably proficient computer graphics guy but I can't understand what this image is showing - perhaps the description could be clarified somehow? I don't know. Yeanold Viskersenn 02:58, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- It's an illustration of the noise added to an image by JPEG compression. You take one image, save it as Original crop.jpg. Compress it with a high level of JPEG and save it as 60 save for webx5.jpg. In an image editor, put Original crop.jpg and 60 save for webx5.jpg on layers using the Difference blending mode, and use Levels to amplify and invert the result. Save it as Difference 60 x5.jpg. --Damian Yerrick (talk | stalk) 13:59, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't understand it either. Tempshill (talk) 06:15, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
