Dieter Dekelver (born August 17, 1979, in Beringen) is a Belgian football player who currently is attached to VC Westerlo. He is known to be an easily scoring striker.
Dekelver started playing football with his local team Gerhees Oostham. At the age of 12, he went to playing for the youth teams of SK Lommel, then playing in the second division. Dekelver would make his début at the age of 18. In January 2003 he signed for KFC Strombeek. 6 months later, this team became FC Brussels. When FC Brussels were promoted to the Jupiler League, Dekelver chose to leave the team together with coach Harm Van Veldhoven, after a conflict with chairman Johan Vermeersch. Dekelver as well as Van Veldhoven went to Cercle Brugge. In Bruges, Dekelver had a quite successful period, being top scorer of the team twice. But in January 2007, Dekelver, almost end of contract, wanted to leave Cercle for VC Westerlo because this was much closer to were he lives.
