Dieter Brummer (born 5 May 1976 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian actor of German descent.

He is best known for his role as Shane Parrish on the television soap opera Home and Away from 1992 to 1996. His character, along with the character's wife, Angel, were one of the most popular couples that have been seen in the show. However, in real life, Dieter and Melissa George, who played Angel, reportedly did not get on very well.[1] For this role the actor won two Logie awards for Most Popular Actor in 1995 and 1996. He was written out when the character died from blood poisoning.

Brummer went on to appear in the hospital drama Medivac and the pay-tv series Shark Bay (1996) and the short-lived soap opera Crash Palace (2001) on FOX8 (Sky One in the UK). He also guest starred in The Man from Snowy River (TV series) in 1996, as a policeman. Dieter also appeared in the 1999 film Tom's Funeral and The Finder (2001).

In 2005 he took part in the reality television series Celebrity Circus.

According to his mother in an April 2007 interview with the Sydney-based radio station 2Day FM, Brummer is currently working as a window cleaner. The station tried to get an interview with him for a "where are they now?" segment, but was unsuccessful.[2]

In September 2007 he was charged with mid-range drink driving.[3]

In common with the character he played on Home and Away, Brummer is a keen surfer.
