Dicky Moore

Dicky Moore (born 1978 in Rochford, Essex) is a London based musician who plays guitar with Scritti Politti.

[edit] Previous bands

Moore formed the band Scintillate in 1994 and wrote and played with them until they disbanded in 2005. Scintillate enjoyed local success in their hometown Southend, winning the 1997 battle of the bands competition, "It's a Rockout".

Moore appeared briefly in the bands "Bates Motel", "Tipper" and "Is She Weird?" before moving to London and subsequently joining the short lived "Jupiter Drive".

Moore joined Scritti Politti on guitar in 2005, and toured with Scritti Politti on their well received 2006 tour of North America, Japan and the British Isles. He also played at the Mercury Prize awards in 2006 where Scritti Politti were nominated for the album White Bread, Black Beer.

Moore is currently recording a solo album, and is rumoured to be working on an art-music project with girlfriend Jessica Akerman called Folk Devil and the Moral Panics. He has also recently played with Frank Sidebottom.

Dicky Moore's sister is Syd Moore, the presenter of Channel 4's "Pulp". Dicky Moore once performed on the show as a member of Scintillate.

A young Moore also appeared on the ITV program "Young, Gifted and Broke" as a member of Scintillate

Moore has played in 3 bands with bassist and percussionist David Ferrett. (Scintillate, Jupiter Drive and Scritti Politti) and has played in 2 bands with bassist and guitarist Scott Hoodless. (Bates Motel and later Scintillate)
