Dick Steeples

Dick Steeples (April 30, 1873 — August 2, 1946) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for Derbyshire. He was born and died in Somercotes.
Steeples enjoyed a brief first-class career, playing all three of his matches at county level during the 1897 County Championship season. Steeples made his debut against Yorkshire, in which he took three wickets, but against whom Derbyshire finished off losing by a single wicket.
Steeples played just two more times in first-class cricket for Derbyshire, but the team finished without a victory in the whole of the 1897 season, and Steeples found himself out of the team. Steeples appeared on a regular basis in Minor Counties cricket for Monmouthshire.
Though Steeples never bowled a five-wicket innings in first-class cricket, his best analysis was a four-wicket haul against Nottinghamshire. Steeples' brother, Albert, played one game for Derbyshire during the 1899 season.
