Dick Lee (artist)

Richard "Dick" Dale Lee (November 24, 1923 - 2001) was an artist and teacher born in Southern Rhodesia, who lived in England for much of his life. He was married to fellow painter Gillian Lee, and fathered 3 children.

Dick was born in Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia, on November 24, 1923, before moving to England later on. From 1947 to 1950, he was a Student at Camberwell School of Art, where he later taught at. He was awarded an Abbey Major Scholarship in 1952, after which he travelled exclusively in Spain, Greece and Italy.
Lee later returned to the Camberwell School of Art in 1953 where he joined the staff. After giving up his teaching at Camberwell in 1982, he moved to Fakenham, Norfolk, one year later with his wife, Gillian.
