Richard "Dick" Day is an American politician. Day is a Republican member of the Minnesota Senate first elected November 6, 1990.

Day was born in Rochester, Minnesota, where he graduated from Rochester High School. He earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Political Science and Business Administration from Winona State College, now Winona State University.
Dick currently lives in Owatonna, Minnesota where he has worked in Printing Sales, Franchise Sales, Director of Franchise Sales and Development for Century 21, a real estate broker, and an IBM Salesman, from which he is now retired. He is married to wife Janet, and has four children: Dan, Steve, Debbie, and Julie, and is Catholic.

In 1990, Day was elected to the Minnesota Senate. He continues to serve there, and is a member of the following committees: Business, Industry and Jobs Finance Subcommittee: Transportation Budget and Policy Division State and Local Government Operations and Oversight State and Local Government Operations and Oversight Subcommittee: Gaming Transportation

On May 27, 2008, Day entered the Republican primary in Minnesota's 1st congressional district. He is running against Brian Davis, a physician who has been endorced by the party. The winner will seek to unseat incumbent Tim Walz.
