If this image appears in an article, it means that an editor thinks a diagram is needed to illustrate a specific part of the article, and has added the {{diagram needed}} template. See the following links for help if you'd like to create one of these diagrams and contribute your work to Wikipedia:
It should only be used when a diagram is particularly important, as it has the downside of making the article look very unfinished. Additionally, or alternatively, users may add the template {{reqdiagram}} to the talk page, which will also place the page in Category:Wikipedia requested diagram images, but in a less visible way (which may be a good or bad thing, depending on the circumstances).
