The Diamond Valley Shire was established in 1964. Prior to this the town was located within the city of Heidelberg. --goon 13:04, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

The Diamond Creek shopping centre and railway station are situated on the banks of Diamond Creek This is a pretty crappy description of the town as it was and is. The town is split between the Diamond Creek bridges and the train line. The original township is situated in a westerly direction closest to the two bridges that span the creek. Development between the two bridges and the train line are flood prone & are zoned accordingly. From the late 60s onwards Diamond Creek East (East of the train line & creek) has seen the greatest development. --goon 13:02, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
