Diarmuid Murphy is an Irish Gaelic footballer from An Daingean in County Kerry. He is the current goalkeeper for Kerry and Dingle.

[edit] Football career

An insurance clerical officer, Murphy is from the townland of Ballinasig, just outside Dingle, where his family owns a sheep farm. Through the years he has played in the Kerry Senior Football Championship, first with his divisional side West Kerry and, more recently, with Dingle [1]. He also played in the Limerick Senior Football Championship and in the Sigerson Cup with the University of Limerick.

Murphy was the goalkeeper for Kerry's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 2004 victory over rivals Mayo. Murphy was again Kerry goalkeeper in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 2006 final at Croke Park on September 17, 2006, with Kerry beating Mayo for the second time in three years. He won a third All-Ireland Senior Football Championship when Kerry beat Cork in the 2007 All-Ireland final.[2] He has won the National Football League division one title with Kerry on two occasions, and currently has two All-Stars, won in 2004 and 2005.
