Diana Buttu

Diana Buttu is a Palestinian legal adviser and former spokesperson with the Palestine Liberation Organization. In her capacity as negotiator Buttu advised on peace negotiations with Israel and refugee issues.
Buttu was born in Canada to parents who were Palestinian citizens of Israel. She received a law degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. She began her work as negotiator in 2000, shortly after the outbreak of the Second Palestinian Intifada, joining the Negotiations Support Unit of the Palestine Liberation Organization. She now teaches at Bir Zeit University in the West Bank.
