The pilot episode of Diamond Geezer was aired on the 20th March 2005. It starred David Jason as a long-serving prison inmate Des. His character comes across as a frail old man who is honest and open, which gains the respect of most of the inmates and the prison guards alike. What they fail to realise is Des's master plan to form the 'perfect crime' and steal valuable diamonds from fellow inmate and notorious bully Benny and takes petty theft criminal Phil under his wing to hatch the devious and dangerous plan.
