Diamond Creek is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Diamond Creek, on the Hurstbridge railway line. It is in Metcard Zone 2

[edit] Facilities

Diamond Creek station is located at the northern end of the Hurstbridge Road level crossing, which also provides platform access. Shops are located near the station.

The station consists of two side platforms. Platform 1 contains a large weatherboard building, while platform 2 contains a small shelter. A large Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. (most trains depart platform 1 so there is nothing on platform 2). There are toilets on platform 1 (which are mostly closed) and a pay phone on the southern end of platform 1.

When trains are scheduled to cross at the station Connex staff are required under the Staff and Ticket safeworking system used on the line, as well as to operate the signals and points for the crossing loop.

[edit] History

Diamond Creek station opened on June 25, 1912.[1]
