Diagonal is an important station in the Barcelona metro network, named after Avinguda Diagonal, where it's located. It was originally built by TMB, and together with nearby and interconnected FGC Provença metro and commuter train station it makes up one of the main metro stations in the city. It is on L3, L5, L6 and L7. Provença station is besides served by the FGC suburban lines S1, S2, S5 and S55.

This station has accesses on Avinguda Diagonal, Rambla Catalunya, Carrer de Rosselló, Carrer de Pau Claris, Passeig de Gràcia and Carrer de Provença.

It was opened in 1924 (for L3). The part of the station that would host L5 was built in 1969. The FGC station, located under Carrer de Balmes, was opened in 1929.
