DHX Media Ltd. (TSX: DHX) is a Canadian media production company formed in 2006 by the Halifax Film Company and Studio B Productions and Decode Entertainment. The DHX name has been derived from "Decode" and "HalifaX".
DHX Media's content library now includes 28 titles produced over the last nine years. It has eight children's series currently in first window broadcast on several cable and broadcast networks in North America and internationally, including Lunar Jim, Bo On The Go! and Poko. [[Bo On The Go! ]] and other CG (computer) animations are produced by Halifax Film at Electropolis Studios - the children's productions facility near Halifax's Citadel Hill; and Franny's Feet, The Save-Ums and Naturally, Sadie produced by Decode in Toronto.

Decode Entertainment was established 1997 by Neil Court, Steven DeNure,John Delmage and Beth Stevenson.
On its own, Decode produced such shows as Radio Free Roscoe, Naturally, Sadie, What About Mimi, The Zack Files, Angela Anaconda, Undergrads,The Hoobs and Chop Socky Chooks among others.

Halifax Film was established by former Salter Street Films executives Michael Donovan and Charles Bishop in 2005. The company has many former employees of Salter and produces television shows such as the satirical comedy This Hour Has 22 Minutes (begun as a Salter Street production), children's stop-motion series such as POKO and Lunar Jim as well as Computer Generated (CG) animation productions such as Bo On The Go! and Animal Mechanicals, as well as the dramas The Guard and North/South.
