Dhorpatan, Nepal is a small village nestled in the southern flanks of Mt. Dhaulagiri in Baglung district. It is the location of headquarters of Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. There is a small community of indigenous hill tribes as well as Tibetan Refugees in Dhorpatan. A seasonal STOL airstrip serves the region. Dhorpatan can be reached from Baglung via Burtibang. Dolpa is a few days trek to the north. During the summer months thousands of livestock are brought to Dhorpatan to graze in the pastureland. Animal husbandry and handicrafts is the key economic activity of the region.
