David Michael Highlender was born on August 22, 1976 in Houston, Texas to Mother Cecelia Ann Human and Father Michael Andrew Highlender. David is an American author of the Made From Scratch culinary book series.

David started writing at an early age attempting to publish science fictions short stories. He later found publication online with various writer guilds around the internet. He eventually combined his passion of writing with his passion for the culinary industry to create the Made From Scratch book series.

David married Stacy Lynn Tolar on June 22nd, 2002. Son, London David Highlender was born on May 10th, 2003.
