Dhirubhai Ambani International School

The Dhirubhai Ambani International School is a school in Mumbai, Maharashtra built by the Reliance Industries Limited, named after the late patriach of the conglomerate, Dhirubhai Ambani. Currently it is headed by Nita Ambani. The school was built in 2003, and is one of 37 in India that offer the International Baccalaureate Program in its Diploma form. The school is located in the G-Block of the Bandra-Kurla complex in Mumbai.

There are Four Houses, named after four of the well known Big Cats. They Are:

1. Blue Panthers 2. Red Jaguars 3. Green Tigers 4. Yellow Lions

Every year, an annual "sports fest" is held in the school, and the four houses compete for a trophy, later stored in the reception of the school. The school has had 5 sports fests so far. The winners were:

1st Year: Blue Panthers } 2nd Year: Blue Panthers } 3rd Year: Green Tigers } CITATION NEEDED 4th Year: Blue Panthers } 5th Year: Green Tigers }

The school also plays various sports, such as football, basketball, judo and taekwando, and holds inter-house as well as inter-school tournaments for these sports. The school also has annual chess tournaments

The food provided to the students is vegetarian.

The school does not permit carrying money to school and has coupons available for purchase worth Rs. 1, Rs. 2, Rs. 5 and Rs. 10. They are unofficially called "dhirus" and can be bought in booklets of Rs 250 each.
