Dharampur, an erstwhile state (acceded June 10, 1948), is located in the scenic hill-state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Just 15 km from Kasauli on the National highway No.22, Dharampur is situated amidst the healthy air of the fragrant pines. Dharampur has one of the best hospitals in India for the cure of tuberculosis. It is also connected by Kalka Shimla railway line. It acts as a link for travelling to Kasauli and Sanawar.

KASAULI: Kasauli is a charming quaint little town about 12 km from the Shimla-Kalka road. Its colonial ambience is reinforced by cobbled paths, quaint shops, gabled houses with charming facades and scores of neat little gardens and orchards. Mixed forests of chir-pine, Himalayan oak and huge horse chestnuts surround Kasauli . Its narrow roads slither up and down the Himachal hillsides and offer some magnificent vistas.

MANKI POINT: 4 km from the bus stand is Manki Point, a fine vantage point for some fantastic views of the surroundings. GILBERT HILL: The scenic beauty here will lure your heart. CHAABAL: 6 km from here is a small village which adds to the beauty of kasauli. SAFARMAINA (8 km), COMPANYBAGH (4 km), NAHRIMANDIR (5 km)

SUBATHU: 28 km from here, some fascinating ruins of an old Gurkha fort are to be found.

DAGSHAI: The pretty hill town of Dagshai (19 km), across the forested ravines and hills from Kasauli, used to be a well-kept tourist secret. Even today not many visitors wend their way to its picturesque environs. They’d prefer to hotfoot it to the glitzy environs of the Shimla Mall instead! Dagshai used to be the haunt of old timers who knew its sylvan treasures as well as they did Kasauli. With its superb walks and picnic spots under the canopy of oaks and holly forests.

BAROG: Barog once just a stop over on the Kalka-Shimla highway, this town has grown to be a destination in itself. Surrounded by pine forests, it presents a fascinating view of the Churdhar Peak, which poetically translates into 'Mountain of the Silver Bangle'.

SOLAN: The valley of Solan is one of a kind, famous as the Mushroom city of India.

CHAIL: 43 km from Shimla and with a lush green setting, this was the former 'summer capital' of the Patiala state. At 2250 meters it has the world's highest cricket pitch and a polo ground, the old palace, now a hotel, and the possibility of some angling are added attractions.

PARWANOO: This fast spreading town welcomes the traveler to Himachal as one enters the state from Kalka.
