Dhamrai is located at 23.9083° N 90.2167° E . It has 57297 units of house hold and total area 307.4 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Dhamrai has a population of 312777. Males constitute are 50.37% of the population, and females 49.63%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 163449. Dhamrai has an average literacy rate of 29.5% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
