From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- The problematic nature of Wikipedia today ensures that uneducated individuals stifle academic contribution. As such, I have ceased virtually all editing since April 2006.
I am an advanced doctoral student with specialisations on the following topics:
- Iranian exiles in the Ottoman Empire and the Iranian Constitutional Revolution;
- Bahā'ī history in the Holy Land;
- Nationalism and the rôle of religion in the Middle East, specifically with respect to Iran, Iraq, and Israel;
- Shī`ī millenarianism;
- political / radical / liberal Islam; and
- general issues of identity and history & memory.
I have also completed a comparative study of the Battle of al-Qādisiyyah and its changing perceptions through history.
[edit] Interests:
- ^ Unfortunately, Wikipedia's nature as an open encyclopædia allows anyone to edit articles, resulting in unscholarly (or anti-scholarly) results. Indeed, the entry on al-Qādisiyyah, which I wrote intially, has been corrupted repeatedly over time and is indicative of the reason I have ceased largely to contribute to Wikipedia. This link points to a restored version of one of my last attempts to maintain the al-Qādisiyyah article in April 2006.
