Hi Dfrg - this pic actually shows immature seeds, not flowers! (elms flower in very early spring, probably about late August in your area) - MPF 12:36, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Fixed! I had to make it an invisible table for it to work, though. Daniel.Bryant 06:45, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- Daniel, thankyou once agian. I think that solitary confinement is really getting to Culverin though. I see you have surpassed the 7400 edit mark. Congradualtions! That is a very impressive feat, and you are to be commended. Thanks again mate, Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 06:58, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- No problems. I think you need to tell Culverin to write some articles, so we can parole him - tiny little fixes aren't great. Maybe direct him to WP:REQUEST...I think you should do it, as he respects you a fair bit. Daniel.Bryant 07:00, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hmmm, it is apparent that writing articles aren't his strong point - perhaps he can contribute in other ways. I understand he has a digital camera, perhaps he can put is to good use? I'll mention WP:REQUEST, but I think he'd prefer taking a few pictures, I enjoy it and I'm sure he will too. Thanks, Dan. Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 07:16, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Odd humor
Haha, thanks for the jokes mate. You must check this, I have the feeling you're gonna love it. Office spaces are very wonderful for the office spaces.--Húsönd 16:24, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Husond, that's great! The old cinamon/basil trick eh? Society! Anyway, I'm sorry I was so late with my response, it's holiday time down in Aus, and I was at the coast, I regret not taking my camera to take some pictures of the area. Kangaroo Valley is particulary green and beautiful this time of year. Perhaps next time eh? So, what are you working on? Any picture requests? Any Joke requests? You may want to check out the Caption Comp in the Esperanza Coffee lounge for a bit of fun. See you 'round. Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 11:49, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Caption competition
- Hi Dfrg. I was just wondering if you set a deadline for the caption competition. When you can, please provide further instructions about the evaluation procedure. The competetion was a great idea btw. Best regards.--Húsönd 03:49, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm... a deadline. Well, today it is the 4th so, perhaps on the 13th? That should be enough time. Judging can begin then and go for two days. It would be great if lots of people, not just those who frequent the Coffee lounge get to see and enter. Hmmmm....
Already covered: Scores will be given out of Ten (Fifty toatal from Five judges). For:
- Originality (2)
- Humor (6)
- Image choice (2)
The winner; as well as being given a year supply of Coffee and a years supply of lounge will recive the DFRTurnip Tropy®. But then, it's not about the wining or the fabulous Turnip, it's about having a go and having some fun.
Scores could be expressed perhaps in a box:
|
|
|
|
|
|
Just fill in! Winner has the highest score. How do I get them to go right?
Ergo template:
Hope that answers your questions - feel free to talk to me about anything more. Thanks, Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 08:26, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hi again. I just noticed that judge Crazytales has a wikibreak notice on his user page. Perhaps you should ask him if the wikibreak will interfere with his role on the caption competition. If so, we might have to request a new judge... Cheers.--Húsönd 03:01, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

- This is going well! And their all quite funny. I will still have to wait for comfirmation on Crazytales before we can start. If I have not said so earlyer - thankyou Husond for really helping me on this. I made the boxes smaller - but I want them to sit to the right of the captions, do you know how this can be done? That should make it easy for ourselves to just fill in a mark out of 10 and someone to add the cumulative total up and express it in a box. To mark we would just use the points system, Originality (2) Humor(6) Image choice (2). Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 23:53, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry. Is it really bad? I can stop the blink if you want. You don't think people could have seizures from it, do you? :( DoomsDay349 20:06, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Art photos
Hey, I looked around, and I think that the people on Wikipedia:WikiProject_Visual_arts this project (ask on their talk page?) would probably be the best people to get involved with to talk both on policy and interesting things to do with taking photos of art. I hope this helps. Take care. --Improv 14:22, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
WikiWar
Hey DFR. Since the talk page for WikiWar is getting somewhat confusing, I'm gonna ask you directly-do you join the WikiArmy or start your own nation? I need to know to organize this correctly. Thanks. DoomsDay349 03:33, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- More than confusing! I think I'll start my own Nation, supplemented by The Archers Incompitent. It will be called The Brotherhood of Cod Name is subject to change. . I'll start work on an Orbital Laser Cannon or a System like the Fractional Orbital Bombardment System (FOBS). All I have to do this is a slice of lemon and a ball-point pen. Yes, I am an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church, and no, someone else was not me. ReverendG 21:09, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thankyou Reverend, for your response. Beaufordjohnson, who is this comment directed at? The Rev or Culverin? Could it not be said that debate can in some cases enhance the quality and consisiveness of Wikipedia? Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 23:10, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: Offline/Online
Sure! The relevant pages would be User:Luna Santin/Status and User:Luna Santin/Status2; if you're familiar with templates, you can probably take it from there. :) Luna Santin 04:27, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thankyou Luna Santin, it looks great; though I'm not sure exactly how it works - do I change it everytime my status changes? Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 12:42, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's a bit esoteric, I know. :) If I were really clever, I'd slip some code into my monobook.js, but for the time being, it needs to be manually edited. If you see User:Luna Santin/Templates/Bar, that's the little navbar at the top of every page. That transcludes User:Luna Santin/Status, which in turn transcludes User:Luna Santin/Status2. The first line in Status is the only important one --
{{User:Luna Santin/Status2|ledred.png|Offline.}}
will throw up Image:ledred.png with the text "Offline." The other lines in Status are commented out via HTML, and are really only there so I can quickly copy-paste them into the top line. Status2 takes the parameters it's given from Status, and makes them pretty. Hope that makes sense. Templates can be a bit tricky. Luna Santin 19:04, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Vandal Fight
Hi Dfrg. Congratulations on your first steps into the wonderful realm of countervandalism. Here's some tips:
- I see that you're using Lupin's Tool, but perhaps you should aim for VandalProof. VandalProof is a powerful tool and I recommend that you try different vandal fight methods before installing it (such as manual or popup reversions).
- When you have developed a good eye for even the subtlest vandalism and gotten accustomed to the set of warnings (test templates) and reporting to WP:AIV, then I definitely recommend installing VandalProof. You may even try installing both VP1.3 and VP2 as they fight vandalism in very different ways.
Good luck, I hope to see you around during my patrol. Have a . Cheers.--Húsönd 14:54, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

To help you with your welcoming of new Esperanza members...
... TangoTango has kindly written up a script that once a week lists all of the new members to Esperanza. The list can be found at User:Tangotango/New members of Esperanza; it is updated once a week, and will show all of the new members since the last update. If you're not sure if everyone who joined the past week has been welcomed, that is a great place to check! I hope that helps you in your welcome, and thank you for making a point to greet new Esperanzians! -- Natalya 18:34, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, Natalya. There are there are about 2,576,605 registered users and about 712 active Esperanzians, probably much less due to sockpuppetry and sleeper accounts. Anyway, we are looking for ways to broaden our community, see here. We are plamning to propose some things there and then move them to the Esperanza Talk page or the Esperanza Proposals Page. Any input from you would be much appeciated. Thanks for all your efforts, Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 10:22, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

The mass-distribution of Barnstars
It is probably true that I have given out far too many barnstars than what is good, I would like to note that they greatly boost the morale of long-time Wikipedia contributors who have recieved little or no recognition. Certain "Smile tags" are ok, but really serve no purpose.
Almost all of those who do have Barnstars on the Wikipedia community have many. Barnstars awards are usually concentraded; most users who do have at least one have many more. Other users who I have awarded Barnstars to have been here for years and have edited many good articles with no recognition whatsoever.
I am willing to greatly curtail my current habits of giving out Barnstars, but I would like to note that Wikipedia has lost many important users, such as RickK (who, I might add, has a Barnstar named in his honor. He left because he recieved little or no recognition while those who played the system and vandalized were mistakenly rewarded), because they see their efforts as going unappreciated.
Honestly, I think that the we should expand this discussion to include the entire Wikipedia community. At what rate should Barnstars be handed out? Who gets them? Should their be limits?
Hope to hear from you,
Sharkface217 21:40, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with you completely; though there is a large amount of recognition on Wikipedia, those who deserve it don't necessarily get it. I think this discussion should be moved to the Village pump or Barnstar brigade committee. Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 05:45, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

There is an Australian to do list.
You can monitor and link to the expanded list with {{Australia opentask}}
Some that seem to me you may be able to help with are:
- an image for Driza-Bone
- an image for Eucalyptus coolabah from the botanic gardens maybe
- expand the Mortein stub
There is also a Canberra task list at {{Canberra tasks}} Regards--Golden Wattle talk 22:40, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Some stuff to keep you occupied
Well, I don't know if your interested in any of the topics below, but here are some things on the 'to-do' list for WikiProject Aircraft:
- LH-10 Ellipse - 2008-03-19 Basically a whole article to write from a stub here.
- Dyn'Aero Ban-Bi - 2008-03-19 Lot of work to do here; basically writing the whole article.
- Fix all external references of www.wpafb.af.mil/museum (old USAF Museum website) for individual aircraft references that fail, to http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/research/aircraft/index.asp and to the same specific aircraft. 2007-08-12 Major task.
- US Air Force changed all their home pages - numerous Air Force links need to be fixed (not just AFM)
- T-50 Golden Eagle - 2007-07-29 Missing a couple specs, could use more details on development and features.
- Junkers Ju 52 - 2006-05-07 More Design and development information required
- Hawker Hunter - 2007-07-29 Much expanded
- Regional airliner - 2006-05-07 just moved from regional jet, needs refinement
- FMA IA 63 Pampa - 2006-05-12:
- C-5 Galaxy - 2008-05-06 Needs some expanding in places and better referencing.
- C-141 Starlifter - 2007-07-28 Has good info on the variants, development and history. Could use more details on its history and its references; find and fix WPAFB ref.
- Gloster Gladiator - 2007-05-12 Much improved
- Airbus A330 MRTT - 2007-05-17 Poorly organised, needs more information about the plane itself.
- Antonov An-2 - 2006-06-27 Written far too informally, and focusing too much on trivia.
- Boeing Pelican - 2006-07-08 Needs template/table and list cleanup, information filled in and references cleanup
- Cessna Citation - 2006-07-25 (and all Citation variants) Need general cleanup and styling to meet WP:Air standards.
- B-47 Stratojet- 2007-08-20 Has an enormous amount of information (is this a bad idea?), but much of it is too detailed/of questionable notability. Also lacking in some critical areas. Update: cleaned-up and re-org'ed. Plz review.
- C-1 Trader - 2006-11-16 Needs a picture, and reworking.
- Shaanxi Y-8 - 2006-12-27 I've been working on improving this article, but the Operational Usage section needs more expansion. Help also needed getting the citations organized better.
- Nanchang Q-5 - 2007-01-10 Needs a picture and desperately needs a good cleanup/copyedit (the Chengdu J-7 needs the latter, also).
- Raytheon Sentinel - 2007-02-01 Hasn't been updated since 2004 when the aircraft was still in development, no specs, no details.
- Avro Arrow - 2007-03-25 Recently on hold as a GA candidate, some rewrite started. Earlier request was made to split off political considerations into a related article; also troll alert on talk page, after a long period of inactivity, the troll is back.
- Mooney M20 - 2007-04-01 Reads like an operating handbook, not an article.
- XB-70 Valkyrie - 2007-10-13 Development section in great shape. Flight testing is covered OK now. Could use more design info.
- Haynes Aero Skyblazer - 2007-07-01 Roadable aircraft or flying car under development. Clean-up and expand as more information comes available.
- F-104 Starfighter - 2007-09-23 Expand to sub-articles on S-variant, variants, and operators. In talk phase, see Talk:F-104 Starfighter.
- Boeing 737 - 2008-01-22 Article is being rewritten/reworked now. Help where you can.
- Aermacchi MB-326 - 2007-10-12 Textdump has added lots of information but needs large amounts of editing.
- Savoia-Marchetti S.83 - 2007-10-12 Textdump has added lots of information but needs large amounts of editing, and check any of the recent additions to Italian aircraft articles for more of the same.
- Bede BD-5 - 2007-10-12 Large areas of the text have been challenged as {advert} violations.

I'm sorry your dog ran away. Hope(s)he comes back. Randfan 22:30, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you Randfan, I am very appreciative of you concern, but, good news! She returned later on it the night, barking at the front door to be let in. Silly bugger. And after I ran around the block looking for it. We then watched Cars (film). Once again thank you for your Kindness, Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 23:13, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

AMA?
Your name was added to Wikipedia:AMA Members by an annon editor. Was that you, or was it just some annon playing a trick? Just doing this to keep our records clear. If it wasn't you, then just remove your name from the list. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 04:02, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hello Dfrg.msc, I see that you have decided to join the AMA. I'll be the first to say welcome! We're always in need of more advocates, especially since were backloged most of the time. Just a few pointers for what we do. We communicate by putting a template on our talk page. The template is {{AMA alerts}}. The AMA also has it's own IRC channel which reports new cases to us, and also new alerts. If you'd like to jump right into a case, you can check out WP:AMARQ, which is our new request for advocacy system. The instructions for how the technical part works is on the talk page. You can also use the AMA userboxes that appear under here. If you have anymore questions about the organization, just ping any advocates talk page, including our coordinator, Steve. Again, welcome to the AMA! -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 15:55, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Adopt me?
Would you like to Wiki-Adopt me? Me thinks that your a fine example of a wikipedian, that could teach me the ropes of this wacky and loving association. If you are interested please see WP:ADOPT and adopt me. Thanks future wiki-dad. Dont forget that once your there you cant just dump me on the street or sell me. I need food and wiki-love to live otherwise I will die. Culverin? Talk 07:07, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

- Those upgrades sound cool, especially roll-back. I might talk to Glen later. But yes, I will help in your learning on Wiki until you become good enough to do it on your own, come to think of it, we've already been working together for a while now. I'll do a check-up on you and give you some links, and advise. Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 08:37, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

I had an accident and need changing again and I am hungry. Anyway. I got FF V2 its great. Its changed my browsing experience. Thanks for it! Ironic that I got it the same day Microsoft was going to download Internet explorer 7 as an update on to my computer (aka giant Mozilla knock off). I find it unfair that Microsoft has such an overwhelming advantage even though FF is at least six times better. Thanks again Culverin? Talk 08:56, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- I changed you five minutes ago, yes Firefox 2 is a much better Internet browser, the in-build spell checker is wonderful, it also makes browsing Wiki much nicer, tell me if you see Wikitoolbar 2. See you in the morning, Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 09:11, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

non admin rollback and warning tools
No prob mate I have added these for you. Can you please clear your cache (hit CTRL-R) and then when you see some vandalism use the RED revert link. This should open the vandals talk page and you should see an extra tab at the top next to history - see if that works :) Let me know if you like! Glen 10:22, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- I like! Very cool. Thanks Glen, for both your time and consideration. Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 23:28, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Wikiproject Graffiti
It's not I highly active project as far as I'm aware. You could always whirl up some activity and get some new members. Also, check out these graffiti stubs. Oh yeah... the street art infobox needs to be made into a horizontal format.. and possibly given a new picture. You can find that here: {{Street_Art}}... Cheers
Complaints?
I would like to apoligise to all who have fallen to my stupidity over the last few days. Firstly the whole navigation bar problem is fibe now, I am deleting it and I am going to get a higher user to design me another one, sorry to all users who were offended in those events. Also i apologise to Editor at Large. I tried to make a better tie to a well developed nation and i failed and then accidentally let Culverin loose on you. Sorry! Now that i have apologised i would like to make a point about using my complaints page when you have a complaint. So please use that talk page in the future for complaints.
Regards, Jamo 23:02, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- No problems my friend! We were all like this when we were just new, starting out on Wikipedia can be a tough process, look back far enough in my archives and you'll see I was far from perfect. You will improve in time, and you have my support. Just one thing though. Lower case I....:). Happy editing, Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 08:06, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Defrag! I'm hoping you were being sincerely honest that time... at any rate, can you explain that whatchamazoo that went on on my talk page? What's up with the hidden messages and marriage proposals? — Editor at Large(speak) 20:54, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Template
I noticed you created a template for your navigation for your userpages. However, something like that for your userspace would be best kept there, in your userspace. What you should do is move it to a subpage of your user account (like User:Dfrg.msc/Navbar). Then to include it in your pages, do like you would in a normal template: {{User:Dfrg.msc/Navbar}}. Hope this helps. -^demon[yell at me] 22:40, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

RE:AMA
If you want to, you can just take a new case. They are listed at the bottom of the page (under "Pages in category "AMA Requests for Assistance"). If you wanted to just tag along with an advocate for now, you can look through Category:AMA Requests for Assistance/Open, which lists all the current cases. The advocate for that case is just listed at the bottom, so I'd image if you just asked them on their talk page, they'd be okay with it. Most talk takes place on-wiki (with some exceptions), so you can just moniter what's going on from there too. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 18:11, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Slivers?
Do you thinks that the MTG creatures, Slivers deserve a page of their own. Seeing as they are so detailed (with time spiral and all) and popular with players all round the world. Maybe it could be a collaboration? Culverin? Talk 05:37, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

- Indent mate. The information expressed in the Creatures of Magic: The Gathering seems good enough, we can't get pictures because of Copy-vio, if Slivers redirects to Creatures of Magic: The Gathering then it should be fine. I'd leave it. Dfrg.msc 1 . 2 . 3 06:21, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
