[edit] harsh comments

Sorry if some of my comments were a bit harsh. Welcome aboard. David D. (Talk) 17:36, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

No harm no foul. Some folks were saying "calm down" but I tried to indicate I wasn't really upset with all the lame jokes. I think it's about time for me to switch to decaf. Whoo!

[edit] Yeah, well...

And let me just say that begging off an argument by hinting at personal misfortune is tacky. Not that I don't have sympathy for you, but it really has no bearing on the issue at hand.

[edit] Re.:Air Wave

Hey, calm down, it was a mistake, ok? About my bad habit of not writing edit summaries what can I say? I may not write edit summaries sometimes, but all my edits are in good faith. So, I have a bad habit... so what? Deal with it. I'm not harming Wikipedia. Lesfer (talk) 18:10, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] MK

[edit] Deleted article re-created

Hi. I put Oakwood Park Grammar School, Maidstone up for speedy deletion, and manually searching the deletion log (is there a quicker way for a non-admin to find this info?) I see that you deleted it [1]. However, it looks like it was re-created by the same user (User:Matthewlary). Could you please let me know how to proceed with letting the user know why that's improper? Thanks much, dfg 15:33, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

I've re-deleted it (you can tag recreated articles with {{db-repost}} in future) and warned the user. You can leave a friendly message like that to anyone else too in the same circumstances.. Stifle 21:40, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] vandal

I took a look at 82.198.250.7 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log) and see that this is an IP for a proxy server and that vandalism isn't happening right this moment. So, I will not block it right now. If vandalism persists, you should probably post it here. It will then be addressed quickly. -- JamesTeterenko 04:17, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Don't think I have that one

Hey! I have lots of photos of the stars on First Ave, but I don't think I have a shot of the Arcwelder one. Sorry though. The Cows kick ass!!! NIRVANA2764 23:34, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for fixing my accidental deletion in Cop Shoot Cop.  :-) dbtfztalk 04:50, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reminder...

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. — Ian Manka Talk to me‼ 22:45, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Tar (band)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Tar (band), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Tar (band) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Tar (band), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Veiled threat in user talk page

Ahem. Dial up the civility please. While I'm here, please don't remove deletion tags from articles that you created—WP:CSD graf 4—it's not for you or me to decide whether the article should or should not be deleted ... richi 00:31, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I'm happy to concede that the article should not have been amongst the several bogus pages I submitted for SD this evening, soz. However, your tone leaves a bit to be desired. (And, again, please do not remove deletion tags.) ... richi 00:59, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

I realize that there were Korean terrorists (i.e. airplane hijacking) but independence activists were definitely not terrorists. I see that you think so as well. Please assert your opinion further b/c "they" are very nationalistic JPOVs (not even all Japanese think that way anyways - this isn't even a Japanese viewpoint but something that ppl w/ some nationalistic extremism protesting in the streets burning Korean flags share. Thanks. (Wikimachine 21:23, 26 September 2007 (UTC))

[edit] Re: Template talk:Unreliable

Thanks for pointing that out! I went ahead and removed {{subst:tl|unreliable]] from the list. szyslak 00:51, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Scratchacid.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Scratchacid.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 23:12, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tssots.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tssots.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:31, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:ThejesuslizardTG.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:ThejesuslizardTG.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:33, 24 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs (talk) 11:33, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ThejesuslizardTG.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ThejesuslizardTG.jpg. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Edit summaries

AFAIK it is encouraged that people write edit summaries, but AFAIK it is not a rule. If it is non-controversial I often do not include edit summaries.

If it does not have any narrative and only consists of interviews, then it could be called a book. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:11, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
