Dexter Myles Jackson (born August 5, 1986 in Dunwoody, Georgia) is a wide receiver and kick returner for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League. He played college football for the Appalachian State Mountaineers. Considered to be a second-day selection by most mock drafts and pundits, Jackson did not expect to be selected in the first two rounds[1], but strong showings at his Pro Day and NFL Combine—in which he ran the manually-timed 40-yard dash (4.27 seconds) faster than any other receiver[2]—bumped his value up the Buccaneers' draft board. He was selected by the NFC South team in the second round in the 2008 NFL Draft.[3] He played high school football at Dunwoody High School in Dunwoody. Coincidentally, the MVP of the Buccaneers 2003 Super Bowl victory, current Cincinnati Bengals safety Dexter Jackson, shares the same name.

Jackson also proved key in one of college football's biggest upsets, recording two touchdowns and 92 yards as well as 19 yards rushing, in the Mountaineers' 34-32 Week 1 win over the No. 5 ranked Michigan Wolverines. A photograph of Jackson in the act of running the ball past the Michigan defense graced the cover of the September 10, 2007 edition of Sports Illustrated magazine.[4]
