Dewan Prem Chand

Lieutenant-General Dewan Prem Chand (Ret.) (1916-2003) was a Pujabi Khatri and former UN peace keeper. He served as Force Commander in Congo, Cyprus, Namibia and Zimbabwe and is believed by some to have set a standard for several generations of colleagues in United Nations peacekeeping[citation needed]Force. He served in Indian Army. On 3 November 2003 He died at the age of 87. He had been honoured with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal and the UN Peace Medal.
