DeWitt Clinton Elementary School is a Chicago Public School on the north-west side of Chicago, Illinois. Jim Mills has helped the funding of Clinton School by donating $1,000,000 to the school in 2003. Mills also started the "One Year Older, One Year Smarter." He awards $25 to anyone who scores higher on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) than the year before, $50 to the highest improvement in the class, $100 to the two students who score highest in their class, $1,000 to the person who scores highest in their grade as well as most improved in the grade, and $5,000 to the most improved and highest in the school. Every year, Mills awards the student with the highest score in the school a $10,000 savings bond. Clinton has scored highest in the state wide ISAT test for 3 consecutive years. The school mascot is the Clinton Cougar. Clinton has a wide range of diversity in the student body and has had annual traditions that have been passed down year by year. For example every year the 7th grade goes on a trip to Springfield IL and also the 8th grade goes to Washington D.C.
One of the most famous students was movie critic Gene Siskel of "Siskel & Ebert" TV fame.
