Devin is a male or female given name meaning "poet" or "rogue".

The name is of Gaelic origin and is typically used as a boy’s name. The more common, feminine spelling is usually Devon.

The name may also be spelled Devon, Devan, Deven, and rarely Devyn, although Devin(male) and Devon(female) are the most common spellings.

It has been suggested that the name "Davinia" may be a female variant of Devin, although this is generally believed to have derived from "David".
