[edit] Plot

Set in early 1700s England, a mysterious stranger, calling himself Dante, arrives in a remote village populated by highwaymen, whores and lowlives. He offers payment for certain 'papers' from Lord Faversham. Soon after, another stranger arrives - an attractive girl named Rossetti - looking for Dante. Neither she, nor Dante, are what they seem. Gabriel, now caught between the two of them, quickly discovers his world is about to end as the Devil's work begins.

[edit] Trivia

Since its festival run, Devilwood has been optioned and developed into a television series by Sacha Bennett and Headline Pictures.
Filming took 3 days in the small hiatus between series one and two of Life on Mars. John Simm wanted to do something different to his role in the hit BBC show and the timing was right.
Philip Glenister was originally to be in Devilwood but couldn't do it. Both Philip and John reunited with writer/director Sacha Bennett to make the feature film Tuesday.
