Devil's Crush (known as Devil Crash in Japan and Europe) is a video pinball simulation. It was developed by NAXAT Soft for the TurboGrafx-16 and released in 1990 as a sequel to Alien Crush. The game has an eerie ghoulish theme with skulls, skeletons, and demons.
The game was released on the Wii's Virtual Console on June 19, 2007 in Japan. Later released on July 23 for North America and July 27 for Europe. The European Virtual Console version is called Devil's Crush instead of Devil Crash like it was originally.
There was also a Sega Mega Drive port of the game, retitled Dragon's Fury (Devil Crash MD in Japan). It was developed by Technosoft.
[edit] Gameplay
The play field of Devil's Crush consists of a free scrolling pinball table three screens high. There are three pairs of flippers. The left flipper is controlled by pressing any direction on the d-pad and the right flipper is controlled by pressing the I button. Button II allows the player to nudge/bump the table to influence the ball's path. Using the tilt button too much will result in the game "tilting" and the flippers will stop working, causing a lost ball. There are many targets to shoot for and hidden bonus rooms.
[edit] Rarity
Long considered one of the best games on the TurboGrafx-16 platform; this game commanded one of the highest prices among collectors of TG-16 software. From the late 90's until 2007 these were effectively trading on eBay for several hundred dollars. With the release of the game onto Nintendo's virtual console the game is now once again available to the masses; with only the purists among collectors still vying to gain an original copy.
