Device Fault Manager as its name states is a Fault monitoring application bundled with the CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution(Complete Network Management solution which performs FCPS of FCAPS).
It performs the fault monitoring of the network elements deployed and sends notifications, alarms and events when a fault occurs in the network.
It provides real time monitoring of the network faults so that the corrective action could be taken before it could cost a lot.
The major versions so far released are DFM 2.0, DFM 2.6 and DFM 3.0 with the latest version being 3.0 in the market which provides reliability and scalabilty.
LMS 3.0 is the complete suite or bundle in the current market.
