Development Bank of Southern Africa

The Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) is a Development Finance Institution wholly owned by the government of South Africa[1] that focuses on investments and joint ventures/partnerships in public and private sector financing. Approximately 86% of loans are for infrastructural development throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

The bank also funds entrepreneurial ventures. Among the enterprises the bank has funded are Mzoli's, a restaurant/bar and gathering place in the township of Gugulethu outside of Capetown[2]
