DevGen

DevGen is a biotech company located in Ghent-Zwijnaarde, Belgium. The company was founded in 1997, by Thierry Bogaert, PhD, from the University of Ghent (Belgium) and Michael Hengartner, PhD, from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (USA).

The company was founded as a technology platform company using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans, a small nematode that is a powerful tool to unravel biological processes. Work on C. elegans has led to a deeper understanding of human disease and new concepts for therapeutic intervention.

The company has activities in crop protection (Devgen Crop Protection), and human therapeutics (Devgen human therapeutics).
