Talk:Deus Ex: Invisible War characters

Fantastic job, KaiSeun! This needed cleaning up. :)--Codenamecuckoo 10:28, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Rewrite
So far, I've done a half-assed job to put evidence behind the claims made. I've also eliminated some obvious POV since readers are supposed to form an opinion of the characters, even though they may do certain things. If someone could write more concisely than I can, please go ahead. I also moved the page from Dr. Lelia Nassif to here, as much of it was a copy anyways. I'll put redirects on those page. I'll continue working on this when I get some more time, but currently, I need to rest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KaiSeun (talk • contribs) [1]
[edit] I suggest a merger
We need to merge them into one article - SGCommand
- Reasons? They are two different games... —Preceding unsigned comment added by KaiSeun (talk • contribs) [2]
- Phahaps the other article shold be called, "List of Deus Ex Universe caracters" to simplify things - SGCommand
- The games are very different and while both include some of the same characters, the characters are placed in very different roles and it would be confusing if it was all on the same list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.176.23.206 (talk • contribs) [3]
- I agree, this is a bad idea. IMO they need to remain separate, firstly because a user researching Deus Ex before starting to play Invisible War would encounter spoilers, also because they are two different games, different genres and set many years apart. 81.132.120.88 19:05, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- I second the above statement. If I'm wanting to find out about Deux Ex characters I'm not interested in reading about Deus Ex Invisible War characters. Keep them separate. 23skidoo 23:38, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Inaccurate criticism?
(about Lin-May Chen) "She is said to be the illegitimate daughter of Maggie Chow and Max Chen. This, however, may present problems with the story of Deus Ex- with the player practically forced to kill Maggie Chow in the confrontation at VersaLife, and JC Denton revealing to Max Chen that she had been working for the Illuminati and was the person who killed the previous leader of the Red Arrow Triad. This, combined with her efforts to begin a war between the Red Arrow and the Luminous Path, caused both Max Chen and Gordon Quick to despise her quite heatedly. She grew up in post-Collapse Hong Kong, and was one of Her Holiness' first disciples when The Order church was formed. Due to her parents' involvement with MJ-12, Chen vowed never to dedicate her life to a dubious or deceitful cause, and fervently believes The Order's ideals are noble."
Is there a reason why Lin-May couldn't have been born just before JC showed up in Hong Kong? It would, in fact, make sense that Maggie was romantically involved with Max long before JC appeared and assasinated the previous Red Arrow Triad leader to put Max in a position of power, where she could control him. --Doug (talk) 13:41, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Response
Lin May was born before JC arrived in Hong Kong. In the Luminous Path Compound Gordon Quick wrote in his journal that he was in love with Max Chens daughter. This is probably Lin May.
Also I agree with 23skidoo. The two games should be kept seperate. It would be akin in my opinion to merging Killzone with Halo.
[edit] Standard Security Corporation
Could someone do an article on the SSC. I have to go.
[edit] Removal of Organizations section
Just in case anyone wants to comment on it, I have removed the "Organizations" section of this page. Not only did this section make the page too long, it had nothing to do with the topic of "Deus Ex: Invisible War characters" and was almost completely redundant to the seperate organization pages that already exist. Any prose that wasn't redundant and worth keeping I have transferred to their respective pages (the Tarsus Academy entry is under ApostleCorp and SSC was too small to bother with at this point). -- Grandpafootsoldier 08:28, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:DX2Main-2004-04-03-00-31-14-1-.jpg
Image:DX2Main-2004-04-03-00-31-14-1-.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Saman's accent
Where is it suppposed to be from? Is there a region of the United States where people sound like that, or was it just a really bad attempt at Britishness? Leushenko (talk) 19:03, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
