DPD (Deutscher Paket Dienst and Dynamic Parcel Distribution) is a German parcel delivery company. It has more than 500 depots in more than 35 countries. The company was founded in 1977 in Aschaffenburg. In its first year of operation, over 1.4 million parcels were shipped - by 1980 this figure had risen to 7 million. Today 1.5 million parcels are shipped every day and the DPD is owned by the French postal company La Poste. DPD is one of Europe's leading B2B parcel delivery services.

As of 31st March 2008 Parceline (UK Carrier) is being rebranded as DPD (Dynamic Parcel Distribution). Parceline has been owned by La Poste since 2001 and as part of natural progression in the strengthening of their European brand the name change is inevitable.
