Deuriopus

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Deuriopus (Strabo: Deuriopos, Stephanus of Byzantium: Douriopos) was a subdivision of Paionia. Its exact limits are unclear, but the river Erigon (Erigonus) watered the district. The towns Bryanium (Bruanion in ancient Greek) and Stymbara (also known as Stuberrha) were located in Deuriopus. According to Livy, Philip V of Macedon had a town built in Deuriopus and named it Perseis, after his eldest son, Perseus.[1]
