The Earl W. of the Wisconsin and Michigan Steamship Co. passing the Detroit riverfront including the Renaissance Center. At 630 feet long and 37 feet deep, the Earl W. is a medium-sized lake freighter designed to be able to reach smaller ports than the 1000-footers which are as much as 56 feet deep.
