"Detour" is the fourth episode of the fifth season of the television series The X-Files. On the way to an FBI convention, Mulder and Scully take a trip through the woods, where an ancient monster lurks. However, this monster has a reputation for being invisible, and is shown to the viewer to use such methods as camouflage on tree trunks. Already 3 people have been "taken away" by the monster, and two more when Scully, Mulder and two other experts join them in the search for it. Scully manages to shoot it when she falls to a hole, but this death is not quite verifiable, as another monster appears under Scully's bed at the end of the episode. Meanwhile, except for the first two victims, the others survive.
