Detente's first album, entitled "Recognize No Authority" was released on Roadrunner Records. Within days of the debut album's release the pending tour in its support had to be cancelled when drummer and co-foinfding member Dennis Butler was severely burned over 80% of his body in an industrial accident, resulting in more than three months of hospitalization.
Singer Dawn Crosby went on with Ross Robinson to form Fear of God, who were eventually signed to Warner Bros. Records. Ross Robinson later became a producer whose credits include Korn, Sepultura, and many other top acts.
Dawn Crosby died in 1996 of liver failure associated with a history of alcohol and drug abuse.
In 2006 "Recognize No Authority" was re-released on Roadrunner Records.
The group reunited in 2008 for a series of limited with legendary and excentric singer Ann Boleyn filling in for Dawn Crosby. They are booked to appear at the Headbanger's Open Air Festival in German in July.
